The Scotney family had been looking for a change of scene for a while. Whilst life in Northamptonshire was good there was a growing interest in finding a new enterprise that would allow the three generations to build a future together. When they saw the details of Dittisham Hideaway they knew they had found it.
We fell in love with Dartmouth and the entire area and instantly felt like it was a place we wanted to live, grow a business and bring our children up.
Here was a chance to bring their own stamp on an existing business, and their enthusiasm and ideas are already making their mark. For example, with a young family of their own, the Scotney’s recognised the appeal of family-friendly pricing, so kids come free. And the welcome package they extend to dogs in their dog-friendly properties is second to none.
Glamping in Style
Dittisham Hideaway is a collection of 10 unique self-catering properties including treehouses, shepherd’s huts and an original American Airstream. The site is located in a secluded woodland on the edge of a sun-dappled valley, just 10-minutes drive from Dartmouth. The different styles of property have been carefully placed on the slopes of the valley so that each group has it’s own space, and therefore its own feel to it.
The peace and quiet at Dittisham Hideaway is a perfect antidote to busy lives, and the charm of the site is the additional space to roam along the wooded walk and amongst the wild flowers. All whilst taking in the views of classic Devon rolling hills.
